SOMEWHERE IN TENNESSEE
Somewhere in Tennessee
I know there's got to be...
Someone who's just for me
I'll keep on searching.
Somewhere in Tennessee
I'll find some peace of mind...
As time takes its sweet time
I'll keep on dancing.
Somewhere in Tennessee
I know someone is waiting for me.
VERSE
Empty streets of Memphis keep me dreamin'.
City lights mingle with the moon in the sky.
Another night without you leaves me questioning why
And wondering where I'll find my one true love.
VERSE
Maybe you're in Knoxville or in Nashville.
Spotlights spill across the stage night after night.
Another song without you leaves me questioning why
And wondering when I'll find my one true love.
CHORUS
Somewhere in Tennessee
I know there's got to be...
Someone who's just for me
I'll keep on searching.
Somewhere in Tennessee
I'll find some peace of mind...
As time takes its sweet time
I'll keep on dancing.
Somewhere in Tennessee
I know someone is waiting for me.
BRIDGE
Are you dreamin' of me too?
I pray your heart has lots of room
and that we discover... each other...
before the moon falls right out of the galaxy.
CHORUS
Somewhere in Tennessee
I know there's got to be...
Someone who's just for me
I'll keep on searching.
Somewhere in Tennessee
I'll find some peace of mind...
As time takes its sweet time
I'll keep on dancing.
Somewhere in Tennessee
I know someone is waiting for me.
Somewhere in Tennessee
I know someone is waiting me...
Yes you are
Somewhere in Tennessee.

Sweet, innocent love song perfect for a young female artist who dreams about meeting her special someone.
During my March 2007 trip to Nashville, I planned to meet up with producer and friend, Charlie Craig. Our schedules were both booked, and the likelihood of us getting together for lunch was tenative at best. I thought, "Well...maybe I'll end up meeting him -- somewhere in Tennessee!" This phrase was the springboard for the song. It's as simple as that.
On a deeper level, my heart does have a softspot for the State of Tennessee (Nashville) as I am on a quest to use my creativity as a songwriter and this "searching" is reflected in the song.
